Same day arrival is possible from most points in the Americas and Europe through the international airport in Barbados (BGI).
Beginning November 1, 2012 guests who wish our office to arrange their “last mile” travel to PSV on the Barbados‐Union‐Barbados route will be booked on flights that will be specifically scheduled and exclusively operated by Mustique Airways for PSV guests.
Mustique Airways, which is the oldest airline operating in the Grenadines, will service the Barbados‐Union‐Barbados run daily as needed with twin engine aircraft (6 passenger Norman Islanders and 4 passenger Rockwell Aero Commanders). These planes will ensure that your flight experience will be private, because only your group or other PSV guests will travel with you. More importantly, this flight will wait for your late‐arriving aircraft if need be. Finally, if takeoff is delayed until after Union Island airport closes at sunset, the flight can alternatively land at lighted Canouan airport, still just a 45‐minute boat ride away from our island.
PSV has negotiated a flat‐rate charge of US$600 per person for the round trip Barbados‐Union‐Barbados charter. Visit our news section for full detail on these exclusive charter flights.
Once you arrive at Union Island, our private launch will meet you at the dock for the 20-minute boat ride to Petit St. Vincent.
Several other options are availalble for the last leg of air travel:
- Should you prefer so, you can continue to use a regularly scheduled airline by purchasing a ticket via your travel agents or the Internet.
- A private air charter can be arranged by our office for guests wishing to make connections via Barbados, Grenada or St Lucia.
- Canouan Island airport (CIW) can accommodate most private jets. Make sure to coordinate with our reservations office and we will arrange for your 45-minute private boat transfer from Canouan to Petit St. Vincent.
Please note that international arrivals into Barbados that land late may not make the last regularly scheduled commercial connection to Union Island. The small airport at Union Island is not equipped for nighttime landing. If you do not use the Mustique Airways charter flights or otherwise miss the last flight or daylight, we can help make arrangements for overnight stays in Barbados with preferred properties.
Barbados Airport / Security Service Tax
Effective Feb. 1, 2007, Barbados has imposed a Security Service Tax of US$15 per person (US$30 per person for stopovers of 6 hours or more). For your convenience we will handle this fee and add the cost to your final checkout bill.
We recommend you or your travel agent coordinate with our reservations office to ensure a smooth transfer.
BY BOAT
The Grenadines are an increasingly popular sailing destination and this is one sure way to get to Petit St. Vincent at your own pace. Make sure to drop anchor in our sheltered harbor and, however you arrive, come visit our beach restaurant and bar as well as the spa. For overnight stays prior arrangements should be made with our reservations office to ensure availability.
